I have had two very good years of grape harvest in my backyard. I grow three grape cultivars on my fence: 'Beta', 'King of the North', and 'St. Croix'. These are hardy grapes chosen for their disease resistance and for making amazing jelly. Growing Grapes for Home Use

No matter what you are preserving - jelly, pickles, tomatoes, salsa, meat - food safety is critical to preserving foods for maximum flavor and minimum bacterial contamination.   The University of Minnesota Extension Food Safety website is a treasure trove of information to help you get started.
