What Trees are Flowering at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum?

Many tree flowers are described as inconspicuous. This may be more a matter of size and location. Tree flowers tend to be short lived, inaccessible if higher up in the tree, and smaller than many of our showy garden flowers. On closer inspection you may find them to be rather intriguing. Consider the first photo of Autumn blaze Maple.

On the other hand we have the appealing and showy flowers of Star Magnolia and Serviceberry.

The last flower in the slideshow is apple which at this point is still a tight bud with some red beginning to show.
